New Horizons

As I’ve been quietly settling into a new studio space, I have been finding a new rhythm while working on new weavings and creations. It already feels like a place that gives me permission to be messy, to play and to gather with others over tea, meaningful conversations, and the creative process.

Lately I’ve been thinking about sensitivity and creativity. The cost of a creative life is often feeling everything deeply. But maybe that’s also its greatest gift. The same openness that allows beauty to come through also means feeling the world more deeply. Perhaps that’s why I’ve always felt so at home among animals and trees.

It brings me to the New Horizons card from the Whole Again deck.

Originally, I wanted to call it the “No” card.

Over time, I realized that every true yes is built upon many honest no’s. The Universe needs to hear our clarity just as much as our desires. Every time we name what no longer fits, we make space for what does.

I’ve come to see boundaries not as walls, but as acts of devotion.

Every no is really a way of saying, This is what I want to give my life to.

I’ve also noticed that our no’s often become a permission for others. They remind people that it’s okay to honor themselves too.

May this card be an invitation to trust the wisdom of your own boundaries, and to remember that every loving no is also a loving yes to something waiting to enter your life.

Where in your life is it time for an honest “no”?
